Congregational Focus:

  1. Conversions
  2. That God would use us to daughter a church plant in Wishaw

Thanksgiving and Prayer For:

  • the blessings God gives us: food, shelter, etc., and for His love, and mercy, and grace to us His people.
  • the gift of the Lord’s Day, when we can rest from our normal work and gather to worship Him. Pray that we would keep the day holy and use it to grow spiritually.

Salvation

  • the salvation of our children and young people, those who worship with us but as yet have not professed faith, and our family members who don’t attend church.

Sanctification

  • that God would write His Word on our hearts, that we would grow in faith and love, and that we would be zealous for Christ.

Ministry

  • Give thanks that we are able to meet to worship God. Pray for the preaching of the Word.
  • Give thanks for the opportunity we have to learn from God’s Word at the METs and Bible Classes.
  • Give thanks for Kids Club and Girls Group. Give thanks for the fun the Girls Group had at their get together on Saturday.
  • Give thanks for the Presbytery Precentor’s Workshop on Saturday.

Congregation

  • Give thanks that Stephen was able to do 8 presentations about the work of Melville-Knox to Christian schools in the Netherlands and that everything went well. Pray for the McCollum family as they have a holiday in Germany and return home next Saturday.
  • Pray for David Frame going on holiday this week.
  • Pray for Tim who is getting a temporary heart monitor this week, and Anne who has a bone scan this week.
  • Continue to pray for George as he recovers.
  • Remember those unable to be at worship for health reasons: Anne and Sam and May.

Presbytery

  • Glasgow – Give thanks for the willingness of those who continue to provide supply during their time of vacancy and for all the work of the Interim Moderator, Rev Donald Macdonald, in making arrangements for it.
  • North Edinburgh – Give thanks for Caitlyn, who came into membership towards the end of the year, and for one or two others who are showing an interest in this. Pray for wisdom for the elders as we move this forward.
  • Stornoway – Give thanks for new families worshipping with them.
  • Stranraer – Give thanks they had 40 people at their Daffodil Tea last Saturday. Give thanks for this opportunity to reach out to the community.
  • The Gambia – Give thanks that they were able to hold their first worship service in their new temporary building. Give thanks for the more visible location of this building, and that this building will enable them to have regular morning and evening services as well as meetings during the week.

Sister Churches

  • Irish RPC – Gateway RPC (Derry City) – Pray for the congregation as, in God’s will, they start the search for a new pastor to take the work forward from the end of April.
  • USA RPC – Las Vegas RPC (Nevada) – Give thanks that last week Las Vegas RPC was organised from church plant to church with a minister, elder, and two deacons.
  • Canada RPC – Pray for their Presbytery meetings on Tuesday-Wednesday of this week.
  • Nantes RPC, France – Give thanks for the various visitors who have been coming to worship since they began our services in the new building. Give thanks for the mother and daughter who have been regularly coming.

Nation

  • Pray that our nation would turn back to Christ and remember our covenants.
  • Pray for the Lord’s mercy upon our Parliament that they would seek to be obedient to God.
  • Pray for the conversion of the king and the royal family.
  • Pray for our local politicians: Anum Qaisar, MP and Neil Gray, MSP.
  • Pray for the establishment of Reformed Christian schools in Scotland.
