Prayer Points

Congregational Focus:

  1. Conversions
  2. That God would use us to daughter a church plant in Wishaw
  3. Men for leadership.
  4. Preservation of Reformed Presbyterian Principles

Thanksgiving and Prayer For:

  • the blessings God gives us: food, shelter, etc., and for His love, and mercy, and grace to us His people.
  • the gift of the Lord’s Day, when we can rest from our normal work and gather to worship Him. Pray that we would keep the day holy and use it to grow spiritually.

Salvation

  • the salvation of our children and young people, those who worship with us but as yet have not professed faith, and our family members who don’t attend church.

Sanctification

  • that God would write His Word on our hearts, that we would grow in faith and love, and that we would be zealous for Christ.

Ministry

  • Give thanks that we are able to meet to worship God. Pray for Gareth Orr (student at RP Theological College in Belfast) coming to preach next week.
  • Pray for Morgan and Ellyn McMahan coming from America for Morgan to have an internship with Stephen in the month of August. Pray that this will be a blessing to the McMahans and our congregation.
  • Pray for the ministries of the church: METs, Bible Class, Kids Club, Girls Group.
  • Pray for the week long Reformation Tour starting Tuesday.

Congregation

  • Pray for Jimmy and Helen’s grandson, Salem. At his latest checkup his kidneys were still not working properly, and he might need surgery, they will find out in 3 weeks. Pray that the Lord will protect him from infection.
  • Pray for the Wynns and Tim driving up from the conference tomorrow. Pray for the McCollums going on to Devon for the week.
  • Pray for those in the congregation with various health issues.

Presbytery

  • Give thanks for all from the Scottish churches who are at the RP Conference in Wales. Pray for them as they travel home tomorrow.
  • Brikama – The Women’s Fellowship meets monthly for prayer, encouragement, and mutual fellowship. Give thanks that the ladies have been particularly faithful in inviting other women to attend church and enjoy Christian fellowship. Recently, they have been encouraged to see three women from Charismatic church backgrounds begin attending our church. They have found great joy in the doctrines of the Reformed faith and have shown remarkable commitment by faithfully attending the Lord’s Day services.

Sister Churches

  • Ireland RPC – There are 4 RPCI Junior Camps that start next Saturday. Give thanks for the good number of young people who are coming. Pray for the leaders of the camps. Pray for the campers’ hearts and minds to be open to hearing and responding to the Word of God; to grow in their love for Jesus as they listen to His Word being taught.
  • USA RPC – Southwest Ohio RPC – Give thanks for all of Dr. Richard Knodel’s many years of ministry. Pray that he will be blessed in his retirement. Pray for the congregation as they look for a minister.
  • France RPC – Pray for all the children from the Nantes congregation who will be attending Christian camps this summer. Pray that God would use these weeks to draw the children to a saving knowledge of Christ and to encourage them in their young faith.

Nation

  • Pray that our nation would turn back to Christ and remember our covenants.
  • Pray for the Lord’s mercy upon our Parliament that they would seek to be obedient to God.
  • Pray for the conversion of the king and the royal family.
  • Pray for our local politicians: Kenneth Stevenson, MP and Neil Gray, MSP.
  • Pray for the establishment of Reformed Christian schools in Scotland.
