Prayer Points
Congregational Focus:
- Conversions
- That God would use us to daughter a church plant in Wishaw
- Men for leadership
Thanksgiving and Prayer For:
- the blessings God gives us: food, shelter, etc., and for His love, and mercy, and grace to us His people.
- the gift of the Lord’s Day, when we can rest from our normal work and gather to worship Him. Pray that we would keep the day holy and use it to grow spiritually.
Salvation
- the salvation of our children and young people, those who worship with us but as yet have not professed faith, and our family members who don’t attend church.
Sanctification
- that God would write His Word on our hearts, that we would grow in faith and love, and that we would be zealous for Christ.
Ministry
- Give thanks that we are able to meet to worship God.
- Pray that the Lord would use the pastoral visits to spur us on in our Christian life.
- Give thanks that some flyers and Gospels have been and will be given out in our local area. Pray that God would bless our efforts with fruit.
- Pray for the afternoon service in Wishaw. Give thanks that so many come locally, and pray that we would continue to have a good turn out with both returning visitors and new people. Pray that the Holy Spirit would work through the Word preached to transform lives.
- Give thanks for the two new visitors we had at the Drop In Cafe last Monday. Pray that more would come in, and that the Lord would bless our opportunities to speak of the Gospel.
- Pray that as we take a break from the Bible Classes and METs that we would continue to read and study God’s Word.
- Give thanks for the Girls Group get together on Saturday.
Congregation
- Pray for Tim who has some major medical decisions to make.
- Pray for those in the congregation with various health issues and those waiting to see doctors and get tests done or hear about results.
- Remember those unable to be at worship for health reasons: Anne.
Presbytery
- Glasgow – Pray for the congregation in their vacancy,
- North Edinburgh – Give thanks for the children in the congregation.
- Stornoway – Give thanks for the children in the congregation.
- Stranraer – Pray for the growth of the congregation.
- The Gambia – Pray that the Lord would raise up men to be elders and deacons.
Sister Churches
- Irish RPC – Convoy RPC – Pray that the Lord would bless their giving out of calendars with Bible verses on it to those in the community.
- Canada RPC – Pray for the Russell congregation as their minister, Rev. Matt Kingswood, has been called by Trinity RPC in Northern Ireland. Pray for both these congregations over the next month and for Rev. Matt Kingswood as he decides what to do.
- Australia RPC – Pray for this denomination as in the space of a month they have two elders moving to different countries, one elder resigning, and Rev. Andrew Stewart (minister of Geelong RPC) has resigned to take up a teaching post at a Reformed seminary in Melbourne.
- France RPC – Pray for the outreach event planned for today. Pray that those who are invited would have the desire to come, and that the message of the Gospel would be used to bring light to lives in darkness.
Nation
- Pray that our nation would turn back to Christ and remember our covenants.
- Pray for the Lord’s mercy upon our Parliament that they would seek to be obedient to God.
- Pray for the conversion of the king and the royal family.
- Pray for our local politicians: Kenneth Stevenson, MP and Neil Gray, MSP.
- Pray for the establishment of Reformed Christian schools in Scotland.
