Congregational Reformation Tour
On the 21st June a number from the congregation and the Mission Team went on a Reformation Tour to St Andrews. Our first stop was the town of Falkland where Jimmy told us about Andrew Melville and Richard Cameron – two men who lived at different points in Scottish Reformation History, but who were extremely influential for the cause of Christ. Then it was on to St Andrews. We first stopped at the beach to have our picnic lunch, then it was on into the town for the rest of the Tour. We heard about Patrick Hamilton, George Wishart, John Knox, and Samuel Rutherford at various spots around the town. It was encouraging to think of all the grace that God has poured out on this land and to hope and pray He will do it yet again. After our Tour there was some free time to get ice cream, coffee, or just shop a little before we headed for home. Many thanks to Jimmy and Helen Fisher for organising this great Reformation Tour.
