August Good News
The August edition of Good News is now available to download.
From the Editorial:
When you receive this copy of Good News, the Summer Olympic Games should be on in Paris. This Olympics have so many sports that there is something for everyone. Perhaps you will be watching a lot or maybe just dipping in. Two of our articles in this edition engage with sport. from a Christian perspective. It is interesting also to note that it is 100 years since Eric Liddle famously refused to break the Lord’s Day by competing in a heat for the 100m race at the 1924 Paris Olympics. Warren and Ruth Peel have written an article on the importance of the Sabbath Day and how to practically sanctify it.
I know that many of you enjoy our interview articles. This time we couldn’t constrain ourselves to interview one person, but we have asked all our ministers to tell us briefly about how they came to have a sense of God’s call into the Gospel ministry. I have really enjoyed reading these stories of how God worked differently in each man, and I hope you will enjoy them too. Perhaps they may be helpful for any men that God may be calling to consider the work of preaching and pastoring. Let’s pray that the Lord of the harvest will raise up labourers for the work in Scotland and further afield.
As always, I would encourage you to share Good News with your friends and to use it as an aid to start conversations in your church fellowships.
