Prayer Points

Congregational Focus:

  1. Conversions
  2. That God would use us to daughter a church plant in Wishaw

Thanksgiving and Prayer For:

  • the blessings God gives us: food, shelter, etc., and for His love, and mercy, and grace to us His people.
  • the gift of the Lord’s Day, when we can rest from our normal work and gather to worship Him. Pray that we would keep the day holy and use it to grow spiritually.

Salvation

  • the salvation of our children and young people, those who worship with us but as yet have not professed faith, and our family members who don’t attend church.

Sanctification

  • that God would write His Word on our hearts, that we would grow in faith and love, and that we would be zealous for Christ.

Ministry

  • Give thanks that we are able to meet to worship God. Pray for the preaching of the Word.
  • Give thanks for our deacons and pray for the Session/Deacons meeting on Thursday evening.
  • A young lady has applied for the Mission Team, and she will be coming on her own. In addition, Campbell will be coming for one week and hopefully some others to help with the outreach work in June. Pray for these plans and preparations.
  • Give thanks for the METs and Bible Classes.
  • Give thanks for Kids Club and Girls Group.
  • Pray that the Airdrie and Wishaw outreach prayer meeting next week will be well attended and have a good spirit of prayer.
  • Pray for Jimmy and Helen who have Tours on Monday and Friday this week.

Congregation

  • Pray for May Bell who is in hospital for observation. Pray that she would get any additional support she needs.
  • Remember those unable to be at worship for health reasons: Anne and Sam and May.

Presbytery

  • Glasgow – Pray for Ian Gillies who has been called to be an Assistant Minister by River Valley RPCNA. Pray for him as he considers the call.
  • North Edinburgh – Pray for the growth of the congregation.
  • Stornoway – Give thanks for increased attendance.
  • Stranraer – Pray for the growth of the congregation.
  • The Gambia – Pray that the Lord would add to our number and build us up, not merely numerically, but most importantly in conformity to Christ.

Sister Churches

  • Irish RPC – Bready RPC – Give thanks for the children who attend the Good News Club and the interest they show in the Bible lessons. Give thanks for the interaction with parents, some of whom have no church connections. Pray for more children to come along, in particular from the local housing development.
  • USA RPC – Westminster RPC (Prairie View, Illinois) – Praise God that last Lord’s Day they ordained Matt Stiegert to the office of elder. Please pray that the Lord will use him to shepherd the flock and govern according to the Word.
  • Canada RPC – Ottawa RPC (Ontario) – The Ottawa Session petitioned the Presbytery for permission to establish a new congregation comprising ten families (forty-five people) from the Ottawa RP Church, 40 minutes west of the city in Beckwith Township. This petition was granted at the Presbytery meeting last week, with the Presbytery appointing a provisional session to oversee the establishment of the new Beckwith congregation. Please give thanks to God for this development and pray for the establishment of this new congregation to His glory. Please also pray for the Ottawa congregation who are rejoicing at what God is doing but also know that, in due course, they will feel the ‘loss’ of these brothers and sisters deeply.

Nation

  • Pray that our nation would turn back to Christ and remember our covenants.
  • Pray for the Lord’s mercy upon our Parliament that they would seek to be obedient to God.
  • Pray for the conversion of the king and the royal family.
  • Pray for our local politicians: Anum Qaisar, MP and Neil Gray, MSP.
  • Pray for the establishment of Reformed Christian schools in Scotland.
